About ESMR
The European Society of Muscle Research (ESMR) was founded in 1971. Since 1972, ESMR have organized annual meetings in almost every European country and Israel. These meetings are characterized by their informal atmosphere promoting lively discussion between junior and senior scientists. In addition, ESMR promotes the perfect platform for communication and networking between colleagues from (former) Eastern and Western European countries, with very welcome input from colleagues from the United States of America, Australia and Japan.
AIMS of the society
- To organize annual international conferences on muscle biology and cell motility in different European countries.
- To create a platform for interaction between scientists active in research on skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle and in cell motility to stimulate interdisciplinary research collaborations within and outside Europe.
- To encourage young scientists to become involved in this research and offer possibilities to present and discuss their work in an informal environment.
